Learning Logs 29/11/2013

    Today, we started off with silent reading, marked Chapter 2 question for "The Outsiders" and then we made a Welcome Back poster for Ms.Lees. We did silent reading because it's a purpose of reading and also can help us who is the main character and the summarize of the setting. We marked the Chapter 2 because we can compare our answer with other students in the class to see if we got it right or need to correct it. We did a Welcome Back poster for Ms.Lees because she is coming back to teach us because she was healing from something. We can use this outside of humanities because it's a good practice for you when you have to write a report and also if your're doing question for a different subject.

Today we did silent reading and then we went over questions from the outsiders. We did this because so we know if our answers are right or wrong and how to search more into detail and stuff. 

For homework we have the chapter 2 questions due on Friday.

today in class we learned about vocabulary for the outsiders and we read some of the outsiders. We learned the vocabulary because it will help us understand the outsiders better. We can use these skills when reading books or in other classes.

today in class we had a test.The test was a short story work sheet. The story we did was "the bet". We do this because we need to see where our level of short storys are. We also do this because instead of always doing worksheets, you need to do tests as well. This could help you outside of humanities because although you dont do this kind of stuff if you were to tell someone about a book or movie you can put it in short form. Homework: The Outsiders questions!

First thing we did in class today was silent reading. Then got our tests back for 'the bet' and went over the answers and made sure we all understand how to do them. Then we talked about the Christmas food band thing. Then we read this small paragraph story on the outsiders and did a few questions which wa assigned for homework.

   Today, we started off with silent reading and then we did Fragments. We did silent reading because it's a purpose of reading and also can help us who is the main character and the summarize of the setting. We also did Fragments because it can help us write better with our sentences, without leaving information out. We can use this outside of humanities because it's good practice for you when you have a report to write.

Today in class we wrote a descripted paragraph about a person or a place. We did this because it can help us writing better paragraphs and to practice our writing skills.you can use this skill at other classes or even writing stories. We don't have anything for homework I think :).

Today in class we first did some silent reading, then we worked on concluding sentences and a bit of how to write a paragraph. This would be useful outside humanities because we might have to write an essay or paragraphs for other subjects. In that case we can just think back to what we've learned about paragraphs in humanities. 

Learing Logs

Today in class we worked on our paragraph writing skills, to be precise we worked on developing the paragraph. We did this because we need to know how to write a paragraph for many of our classes. In humanities we may have to write a short story or a normal story and in order to do that you need to be able to make a paragrph that makes sense and that does'nt just have a whole bunch of sentences together. Outside of humanities this would be useful because in many parts of your life you will have to be able to write a paragraph, maybe for a job description or even in other classes. Make sure your blog groups have there blog reports up and you have a portfolio! :)
