What did we do?
We watched The Outsiders Film today in class. It was a very good movie although it was an old film. We have been reading the Outsiders book and Ms.Lees thought it would be a good idea if we watched the original movie. We all enjoyed it and it was a good way to end the novel. I liked the novel better then the movie because the book had more descriptive words. The movie just took the main parts; most films do that anyway.

Why did we do it? 
We watched the movie because we all deserved it and we had just finished the novel. Most kids did their homework but others didn't. Ms.Lees was nice enough to let it go and let us watch the movie.We deserved it because we have been working really hard on the novel and our learning blogs have improved so much. We had also just finished the book so we thought it would be a great idea to watch the movie and see what the differences are between the movie and the book.

Connections?
Connections beyond Humanities include making sure your work is done the time it needs to be done. That was one of the reasons we watched the movie. Another could be, the reason S.E Hinton wrote this book is because she wanted other people to know how people liked the greasers lived in the 1960's. The greasers had it rough and i think watching this movie might make a difference to people. Such as no more fights and gangs. Connecting with these characters made me realize their no different then everybody else. They have the same problems and worries.
