Reflections and Nelson Mandela connections

Reflections:

Today was a very interesting class. We first talked about what would motivate us to do our homework at home. We then watched a video on motivation and hard work. The video showed that know matter how much you pay someone the out come will come out the same if you were to pay them a lot or not enough. The video also showed that the reason people do things is because they want to. Most people don't want to work; so they don't work as hard as they should be working. A part in the video really jumped out at me. The part that jumped out at me was when the guy decided to do a challenge. The challenge involved having people come and do challenges and innovate together for FREE. These people where not getting paid but they were doing an outstanding job. The reason they were doing so well was because they loved to do it. They showed interest and that's what made them work hard. So most people think that if you pay some one more they will work harder but that is not the case.

Nelson Mandela Connections:

Nelson Mandela and I are very different in most ways but similar in other ways. Our similarities are that Nelson believed in rights and equalization. Although he is much older then me it doesn't mean we can't have similarities. Nelson was a leader. Sometimes I do believe I can be a leader but most times I will just stay quiet. On the pitch (soccer field) I am a leader. I talk to my team and give them direction and that is exactly what Nelson did. Although Nelson and I have similarities we also have differences like everyone else in this world. Not only is Nelson older then me but he has known life longer then me. He knows what's coming and I don't. Even though he past away doesn't mean his journey has ended it has just begun. I am young and my journey has just begun but he is old and his journey has just begun. We are different. He left this world with a message. He wanted another leader to step in his footprint. To do exactly what he did. To Change racism, peoples rights and peoples lives. For most people Nelson was a life changer. He was the kind of man that would sacrifice him self in jail for 27 years just for his people. For his people to finally have things right to have things the way they should be. But me I haven't done any of that. I haven't changed peoples lives I haven't made the world a better place. I'm just an ordinary person just like everyone else.
